closure

Although I finished my last final almost two months ago, it wasn't until yesterday that I finally felt complete closure on my master's degree saga. An envelope marked "Do Not Bend" was waiting for me when I got home from work, and sure enough, it was my diploma. Master of Business Administration. Hmmm...Sounds nice, but I certainly don't feel like a master.

Although my application to graduate was accepted months ago and I've known for over a month what grades I earned last semester, I had a fear deep down that something would go wrong, resulting in my having to go back to class. It's a feeling similar to those dreams that many of us have where we show up for class and realize we haven't studied for the exam (in my case, I always remember at the end of the semester that there was a class I'd registered for but forgotten to attend--not an unlikely scenario considering the 18 to 21 credit loads I typically took while at BYU). In any case, I'm glad to have closure. Now I just have to figure out what to do with that expensive piece of paper.
