I'm flattered. I think.
A colleague from my previous team left me a voicemail this afternoon. The message was cryptic--he said he needed to talk to me about something, but didn't say what about. I'm helping him conduct job interviews this Friday, so I figured he wanted to talk about that.
I called him back, and he explained to me that he and his team had been making videos for large groups of employees to learn about the project I used to work on (it's been over four years now, I think--four years, and still no system launched--successful!). He said that they figured that it was more effective to play an entertaining video for people than to bore them with another PowerPoint. He's probably right. In any case, he asked me if I'd be willing to star in his next video: a spoof on the Mac vs. PC ads that are so popular right now. I knew as soon as he said "Mac vs. PC" which character he'd want me to play.
I agreed to do it, but it made me wonder: fat dork, or funny guy? I guess we'll wait until the video is done to judge that.
