- The little lady told me that her grandmother's health was deteriorating. She described her condition as "knocking on death's door", which totally cracked me up. She was not amused by my laughter, but seriously, what did she expect when she framed it up like that? Why not just say she was "neck-deep in the grave"?
- I hate walking barefoot--anywhere, any time.
- I bought lunch in the cafeteria at work today, but I was still hungry when I was done, so I bought another lunch at Caribou Coffee right after that. Oh, the self-loathing. Talk about insatiable hunger...
- I'm really tired of hearing about health care. Call me kooky, call me wacky, but nothing is going to pass right now that causes the nation to plunge further into debt. Talk about bad timing.
- I'm really hating the fact that I have a job right now. I've been trying to work less from home so that I can draw distinct boundaries between work and my private/personal time, and while this seems to be working well, I've also started to really hate working. Period.
- In related news, no, we did not win the lottery...which sucks, because that's the only viable alternative I have to being "gainfully" employed. It would also have been nice to have won after the little lady suffered the shame and embarrassment of being carded at the local grocery store whilst trying to buy a ticket. Bwahahahahaha...
- Seen the new Porsche 4-door sports car? Ranks up there as one of the ugliest luxury cars I've ever seen. Sounds awesome, but looks hideous. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't pay $100,000 or more to drive a hatchback.
- If you haven't listened to Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture lately, you should. Just make sure you listen to a version with real cannons. I rocked it with headphones on this morning and about blew my eardrums out. Not a bad way to lose one's hearing, if you ask me.
- Ever watched "Top Gear"? It's one of the few TV shows I can stand to watch. We watched a few shows the other night, and it elicited a few laughs. Comedy and cars. What's not to like?
- I'm really looking forward to Christmas. After we watched "500 Days of Summer" a couple Saturdays ago (obviously not my choice, by the way), I was reminded that I need to put Christmas lights back up in my home office. Permanently.

Top Gear is an amazing show. The cinematography and use of music is perfect. I was never really a car person until I saw that show.
ReplyDeleteIf it makes you feel any better, my recent cinematic adventures have included "The Ugly Truth" and "He's Just Not That In To You". If you're given a choice, I'd recommend fighting for the latter. It wasn't as bad as I was imagining. The Ugly Truth was awful, plus there's guy butt.
Unfortunately, I've also seen "He's Just Not That Into You". A lot of it was surprisingly realistic, but it's not like I'm running out to buy the DVD, if you catch my drift.
ReplyDeleteI typically watch romantic comedies with Becca about once every three years, so now that I've seen two this year alone, I'm good to go until 2015 or so.
