when it pains, it roars

Bad luck '08 continues. I took my wife's car to the dealer for the 60,000 mile service, and ended up needing new brakes, tires and a few other things in addition to the service. The total for all this nonsense was almost $2100.

I went outside yesterday morning and noticed that the rear driver's side tire looked a little low, so I told her I'd put some air put in it before she had to use her car again. I went out this morning, and it looked even worse. I pulled it out of the driveway, and felt that ominous little bump as I drove down the street that told me the tire was completely flat. So, I pulled my car out of the garage, pulled her car into the garage, and then put on the spare tire. Few things in life are less pleasant than changing a tire.

And, of course, wouldn't you know it? The dealer is not open today for me to get this resolved.

I believe I mentioned that my car's navigation system wasn't working when I got it back from the repair shop. I did some searching around the internet and found that if you disconnect the battery from the car, the navigation system will often reset itself and all will be well. I tried that this morning as well. No dice. So, I called the insurance company again, but of course, there was no one working who could actually approve the repair. And, naturally, this means that my car will have to go into the shop yet again.
